Let the harvest begin
The above photo was taking one evening this week as I enjoyed a peaceful G&T before the second wave of mayhem begins.
Yep it harvest time, and I am enjoying the bounty I sowed as well a playing that delicate ballet of what to pick, what to leave and what to remove sow I can re-sow or plant my winter stuff.
So far I have been picking peas, mangetout, cabbage, kale, beets, pak choice, spinach, spring onions and even some wet garlic.
I have managed to keep the sawfly under some control so I will have gooseberries and white currants soon to go with the raspberries and strawberries if the latter two ever make it back to the kitchen without being eating by a human!
I do seem to be lacking in lettuce though, and my second lot of gerkhins seem to have been eating like the first! But I guess that's gardening.
On a nicer note I really proud of my urn display this year, which is outside my greenhouse to attract bees.
Bee power
Wow you've been rewarded with a few good helpings from the plot, love this part more being rewarded from what we've done beginning of the year. At the moment I've took home potatoes / beans / strawberries and two small lettuces, still a long way for anything else good to pick.
