Melon update

Back in June i mentioned my water melon plant has female flowers on, the first plant to do so in three years of trying and this is what I have today.

The fruit has now been netted and tied to the frame of the greenhouse to give it some support and fingers crossed I may have a melon in September.

I also have some Bramley apples growing, plums and still got gooseberrys and woodland strawberrys to pick so doing ok for fruit.

Apart from squishing caterpillars and eggs daily, everything in the veg patch seems to be ok, things are starting to come to the end, but at least this year i have, cabbages, broccoli, lettuce, peas and a marrow in the wings waiting to be planted over the next two weeks, just waiting for a really heavy downpour - which i really really need this week.

 

I have treated myself to a long spout watering can for the greenhouse do you like?
