6 trees planted - ouch!
So I have been thinking about adding some fruit tree to my garden for a while and while out shopping Saturday i come across a deal too good to refuse in my local garden centre. Any 5ft bare root tree £5. I must admit most of the trees were coming into bud so i guess that's why they were selling cheap (i hope)
Anyway I wanted a bramely apple, so got that and a cox pippen and egret to cross pollinate, plus a Stella Cherry, Golden Gage plum and Duo plum.
Today i planted them and boy does my back feel it now, and i have to admit after the fourth i was starting to loose stamina and enthusiasm but hey they are in.
I also picked up a golden raspberry but they only had one, and though i have raspberries already in the garden am wondering if I need another.
Next weekend I am hoping to start sowing my outdoor crops, with a bit of fleece protection and we had a bit of ground frost last week.

You sound like you have a mini orchard. How lovely all the blossom will look, and think of all that fruit!
ReplyDeleteYes i am looking foward to it, planning to purchase a bench to go under them soon.
