A little disappointed

On Saturday 28th March I went to the Edible Garden Show, this year at Alexandra Palace having previously been at Stoneleigh Park. Well I was quite excited by only a 2 hour Journey and originating from London I knew the area well.
I arrived there in good time and found the park and grounds lovely, a nice pleasant walk up the hill to the actual palace, but once there I found Alley Pally has started to look a little shabby and that the whole of the show had been squashed into the one hall and not spread out around the palace and grounds. This led the show to bit just a bit stuff and musty smelling.
I did enjoy some good talks from Pippa Greenwood and Christine Walkden as well as the Chicken vet and picked up some insect mesh for my beds but overall found the stalls to be quite expensive. Now I don’t know if this is because I am frugal (or tight!) or because I have been gardening for a few more years since my last visit and can look at new gadgets with an eye of scepticism.

The show this year also had some craft, food and clothing stalls all of which were geared into to selling to the local visitors; overall not as good as my last visit and I wont be returning while the show stays at Alexander Palace.

My other disappointment came last night, when upon visiting my greenhouse saw I had been visited by a snail during the day and they had munched all the tops off my cucumber plants, so I will have to so a couple more, and even more annoying I couldn’t find the culprit in the greenhouse.
