Blossoming May

Time for a bit of a re-cap on what’s been going on in my patch.

This is what it looked like at Easter,

In April I have been sowing like mad in my greenhouse, I have lettuces, cabbages, peas, lettuces, leeks and chard waiting to go in.  The tomatoes, courgettes, cucumbers are all up and potting on, now sign of the corn, or sweet peppers I have sown yet.

I have lost my inca berries, and some hers as the peat-free compost I bought from asda was horrible and the seedlings just keeled over, so it’s back to B&Q for some more compost.  I do find the quality of peat free compost to be so hit and miss.

All the boring chores have been down, the patio and furniture cleaned and ready for the nice warming evenings to come and the new bed is in and full – this one is going to be a cutting flower bed, and with the week off from work I intend to get it planted up and get the rest of my potatoes in and just generally enjoy some nice weather (fingers crossed).
