Gardening with hail

I managed to get out in the garden this morning, and the day started well with the sunshine breaking through by 10 am.

So I sowed some carrots, beets, fennel, and spring onions, then as i was starting to sow some more, we had a brief hail storm here, and I mean brief didnt even make it the shed before it stopped.

So I decided to plant my peas on, this year I tried sowing them in toilet rolls, and they have done really well with a good length of root and of course the whole thing can be planted into the ground as the cardboard rots away.  Will be trying this with my runner and french beans and my corn.

I have planted on some Tomatoes, cabbages and Kale and everything seems to be ok in the little greenhouse but am starting to feel I am getting behind with sowing and getting a little frustrated in the lack of greenhouse (It was ordered in March but they didn't deliver before or during Easter!!!).  Hopefully it will be here before May, and its easier to erect.
